I intend to make this team a baton pass team with mew later once I get him.

I really like Garchomp though and never used Tyrannitar.

So is there a place for Hydregion or Garchomp on this team?

Also should Gengar or Ivysaur get the megastone?

I’m not the best at this, @PeterHolmes74 & @ezlaturbo are much better, but I will try anyway:

  1. Delta Venu should always be your mega. Run a Psychic/Moonblast/ShadowBall/CalmMind set.
  2. A little tip: Run swampert physical. Waterfall/EQ/IcePunch/Protect.
  3. Unless you are running a move that could poison, venoshock is kinda weak. Replace with Sludge Bomb.
  4. I hope A-Tar has unnerve. sandstorm really doesn’t work well with your team. Swap draco jet with dragon dance and payback with crunch.
  5. Little rule of thumb: If it isn’t 100% accurate, it 50% accurate. swap heat wave with flamethrower on volcarona.

I don’t see how a garchomp or hydregion would fit here. If you want to use it, I don’t know which spot it should replace.

WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY! So glad to see a new face around here!

Time for in-depth analysis!

That Volcarona set is usable in double battles, but lackluster otherwise. You can use it, but he will have little difficulty in solo battles. For solo battles, this set is more optimal:

Volcarona @ Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid nature
-Flamethrower/Fire Blast
-Bug Buzz
-Giga Drain/
-Quiver Dance

D.Venusaur should be your Mega Evolution. You can opt for either an offensive set or a bulkyer one. The Bulkyer has a more specific EV spread and hit noticeably softer but has much more bulk.

Offensive:
Delta Venusaur @ D.Venusaurite
Ability: Psycho Call
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Moonblast
-Psychic / Psycho Boost
-Shadow Ball
-Calm Mind

Bulky:
Venusaur Delta @ D.Venusaurite
Ability: Psycho Call
EVs: 252 HP / 152 SpA / 104 Spe
Modest Nature
-Calm Mind
-Psychic
-Moonblast
-Shadow Ball/Leech Seed
His EV spread allow hit to outspeed 252 Speed Adamant Tyranitar.

I never used Delta Scyter, so I don’t know what is best for him. Your set should be fine however.

Gengar should use Taunt. Against the Elite 4, Taunt ruins Eduard’s lead and Kyla’s whole team. I am not telling you why, discover it yourself.

Tyranitar is here as a Wallbreaker and potentially sweep slower Pokémon. I prefer his Mega Evolution as a Dragon Dancer, but he is strong enough with his Armor. Look out, his Sandstorm combined with Gengar’s Life Orb does massive chip damage. Also, Tyranitar has no reason of being used without Sand Stream.

Tyranitar @ Tyranitar Armor
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Dragon Dance
-Stone Edge
-Crunch/Fire Punch
-Earthquake/Fire Punch

Without his Mega Stone, Swampert fits better as a wall than a tank or Wallbreaker. As such, I think you should switch Swampert for Garchomp. I suggest a combo Sand Veil + BrightPowder, Sand Veil being activated by Tyranitar’s Sand Stream.

Garchomp @ BrightPowder / Life Orb / Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Swords Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Draco Jet / Rock Slide

A couple of questions. I am not familiar with terminology of wall breaker. Swampert is great against the inferonal cult. So what does Garchomp provide over that.

My Tyranitar ability provides a sandstorm when he enters into battle.

Also if I am going to be using Garchomp over Swampert should I give him my only life orb and give Gengar something else.

Why is Hubris on Delta Ivysaur so good considering I have to switch him out after he kills something with it due to the opponent picking something Ivysaur is weak to.

Simply because:
Delta Venusaur is VERY resistant and would most of the time be able to tank the attack and strike back with an One Hit KO.

True, Swampert cover all of infernal Cult by himself. I didn’t thought about that. Offensive set are possible and viable in the adventure. Opt for a physical variant. Garchomp simply has more attack and speed at the code of the Water Type. Most of the infernal cult as Ground Weak Pokémon and Garchomp as a better matchup against Zenith’s Groudon than Swampert does.

I am not a professional, I am just a guy who as some team building talents. I think you could put Garchomp somewhere on the team and it would fit his jobs just about everywhere.

Actually, I prefer Fiery Dance over Flamethrower, as the 10 power difference doesn’t make much difference compared to another stat boost if you only got 1 Quiver Dance up. This allows you to QD once, then spam Giga Drain and Fiery Dance with the occasional Bug Buzz for free KOs. Again, the only replacement would be Swampert, unless you don’t want Ttar.

Now I got mew so considering its a baton pass team. I replaced Garchomp with Swampert once I realized garchomp can learn surf and provide water coverage. So which pokemon should I replace with mew for baton passing. What set do you recommand?

Um, don’t use Surf on Garchomp, waste of a moveslot, as it is a physical attacker. Put it on Mew, while giving it CM/Bulk Up Baton Pass. I personally use Mew with Cosmic Power or Iron Defense/Amnesia setups, and maybe SD or CM. A Sample set would be Surf, CM, Roost/Iron Defense/Bulk Up, and Baton Pass

First rule of Baton Pass Chains: Always pass the speed first. As such, Switch your Volcarona for a Speed Boost Blaziken

Not necessarily. I generally lead with a Iron Defense/Amnesia setup, so I can quickly boost my defenses, based on what my opponent leads with. Something like this:
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Bold Nature, Max Hp, and Max SpD I think?

  • Thunder Wave
  • Iron Defense
  • Amnesia
  • Baton Pass

But which pokemon on the team to replace mew with? Delta Ivysaur?

You don’t have to have mew, just Speed Boost Offensive Baton Pass Blaziken and Mega D. Venu can sweep the E4 by themselves.

I know but I just want to try a baton pass set.

I would remove Garchomp or Ttar, probably Garchomp.
