Now, you have two different options. Since you play on easy mode, you have the right to use Shift mode and use your bag during the battle. This can, in my opinion has the potential to kill the challenge, but I know not everybody has the same “talent” as me.
First option: Stall. Here, you absolutely abuse your ability to use as much revive as you want. One or more Pokémon of your team are extremely defensive member who will do next to no damage. I have Eviolite Chansey in mind. Basically, you use it to revive all of your Pokémon and take your time. Do NOT use against Kyla or Setup Pokémon. Please. Keep pressure against them.
Second option: Normal offensive team. Since you have the option to switch before the opponent send their Pokémon, you can very feasebly afford not to have much “bulk” in your team. Fast and strong Pokémon are your friends here.
Well, I guess you could have some sort of more balanced team, but with the Shift mode, I feel like it’s kind of a waist.
Alright, time for the team. This is assuming you are using the second option. Since you play on easy mode, you really don’t have to worry about EVs and IVs. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s perfectly normal. You can check out my 11 part series Competitive Trainer School. It basically teach you basics competitive Pokémon notions, like EVs, IVs, Natures and Team style and also other tricks like Breeding, what to do during team preview.
Delta Venusaur
This, in my opinion, is your best shot as choosing a Mega. On its own, that thing can defeat the E4 on its own. Use a set consisitng of Calm Mind, Psychic, Moonblast and Shadow Ball.
Delta Gardevoir.
Delta Gardevoir is kinda the best Choice Scarf user avaliable here. With a moveset of Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Moonblast and Earth Power, Delta Gardevoir can beat any Dragon Type in the game.
Delta Bisharp
Delta Bisharp has the good combo of having very both Taunt and an earthquake immunity, so it can simultaneously destroy Kyla by itself and shut down Eduard’s lead Hippodown. It will loose quite wallbreaking power without it’s Mega, but Delta Venusaur is still a better choice. It could very well be swaped in my opinion.
Give it a set of Taunt, Mach Punch, Cross Chop and Accrobatic without an item.
Sceptile
Sceptile is, in my opinion, the weakest of your team members. His stats are decent, but it tends to be overshadowed without its Mega. As Rocketbox suggest, I recommend you swap it. The main problem is that without it, your team is rather slow. Roserade have good wall breaking capabilities like Choice Specs Rotom-Mow or Armored Leavanny who also pack Sticky Web. Delta Snorlax is also a good option, as it is a Grass type sweeper who don’t care about Fire and Ice type moves thanks to Thick Fat. However, with Delta Gardevoir covering Water types, I feel like you would be better with other Pokémon, maybe Gengar, Garchomp, Delta Hydreigon or Armored Tyranitar. TTar have the benefit of activating Sand Rush for Excadrill too, even though they have serious weakness overlap.
So, your choice here.
By the way Rocketbox, your set doesn’t really make sense IMO. Kind of a double dance set, but with a Pokémon who doesn’t benefit much from those kind of sets. Also STABless and with Jolly nerfing Focus Blast.
Excadrill
Speaking of which, Excadrill is amazing against the E4. With Tyranitar, it has serious capabilities to mess Yuki up by switching the Hail for Sandstorm and London have difficulty dealing with this core if EV trained properly. But since you are in easy mode, EV don’t matters.
Anyway, if you are using it with Tyranitar, go for a Sand Rush sweeper with Earthquake, Rock Slide, Iron Head and Swords Dance. If you don’t have reliable Sand setters, then go for a Mold Breaker set who can dispatch of Delta Volcarona and Rotom by ignoring Levitate. I would usually recommend Scarf for this set, but since you already have D.Gardevoir, a Leftovers or Life Orb set is a better alternative with Earthquake, Iron Head, Rock Slide and Swords Dance.
Azumaril
You absolutely need to make sure it have Huge Power. Without it, then your Azumaril is a complete waist of a team slot. With Huge Power, it hit almost as hard as mother**king Groudon.
218 x 2 = 436 vs 434
You have two ways of thinking with Azumarill: Choice Band or Belly Drum. Choice Band has immediate outstanding power with a nightmarish Aqua Jet and Play Rough while Belly Drum uses a very risky move alongside Sitrus Berry to get it’s attack to almost unfair level. 1744 at max to be more exact, with the proper investment. Now, Aqua Jet does serious damage to almost anything and slower wall are demolished with Waterfall, Play Rough or Knock Off. I would personally recommend the Choice Band set as it won’t cost you nearly as much potions and Sitrus Berry. With the Choice Band set, use Play Rough, Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail (Because Waterfall is Post-Game) and Superpower.
Other things
As I stated, I think Sceptile and Delta Bisharp are your worst likely Pokémon to be switched out. Azumarill has pretty rough competition as a Water type, namely for Elite Breaker Gyarados and Delta Haxorus. Outside Sandstorm, Excadrill can be very good with Mold Breaker. You can get Hidden Ability Drillbur by visiting the Friend Safari of 1ofthe4rocketbros. Pokémon encountered in the Friend Safari have a 1/5 chance to have their hidden ability.
The Pokémon I recommend if you are swapping one of your Pokémon are:
- Garchomp for it’s perfect stats, outstanding typing and very good movepool
- Gengar for a very fast Taunt user who also pack a serious punch with Shadow Ball
- Delta Hydreigon with its MONSTROUS poison type Hyper Voice.
- Rotom-Mow for a nice Leaf Storm spammer with ground immunity
- Aegislash might be slow, but goddam that thing is absolutely BROKEN against the AI.
- Gyarados because I cannot talk about the E4 without mentioning ma boi.
Also, always carry a Taunt user. It is the objectively best way to deal with Kyla. That or Mega Kangaskan.
