Decoding Delta Bisharp

The Big Stinking Truf

Never been good at Competitive…but I am gonna try! @PeterHolmes74, tell me what you think in the comments below!
Also some of the sets were thought up by @ezlaturbo, so thanks to him I guess.

“I have come to the personal conclusion that while all artists are not chess players, all chess players are artists.” – Delta Bisharp

Originally by Marcel Duchamp

Hello guys, girls, non-binary, attack helicopters, cookie gender individuals! Today I will try to do something only the great PeterHolmes74 can do: Analyze a Pokemon! So I will try do do that today.

Typing, Stats, Ability & Movepool

Flying/Fighting
Abilities: Frisk, Defiant, Wind Force (HA), Technician (Mega)
Stats: BOLD Denotes mega stats.
HP: 65/65
Atk: 125/145
Def: 100/130
SpA: 60/60
SpD: 70/85
Spe: 70/105

Great physical stats, and usable speed, so this thing can be used in Mega or Regular, especially with a usable movepool. But I’m not gonna give it all away just yet. Here are some sets I thought of.

Set Suggestions

Technician Abuser

Delta Bisharp @ D. Bisharpite
Ability: Frisk (Will become Technician upon Mega Evolution)
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

  • Dual Chop/Rock Tomb
  • Power-Up Punch/Mach Punch
  • Aerial Ace
  • Bulk Up

This whole set uses Mega Disharp’s (not a spelling mistake) ability. If you value outspeeding or sheer power, than the first & second moves are gonna be easy decisions for you, it all depends on your taste.

Gemrobatics

Delta Bisharp @ Flying Gem
Ability: Defiant/Wind Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

  • Acrobatics
  • High Jump Kick/Low Kick
  • Blaze Kick/Iron Head
  • Bulk Up

Bulk Up is used to drive that attack and defense a good amount, even though it can already OHKO Mega Mawile: 252+ Atk Flying Gem Delta Bisharp Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Mawile: 203-239 (129.2 - 152.2%) – guaranteed OHKO
The other moves are here for coverage and other powerful STAB’s.

Other Options

You can run a Crit Spam set of Focus Energy & Scope Lens replacing Bulk Up & Flying Gem respectively, but it doesn’t have any other good Flying STAB’s other than Acrobatics, so (unless you are willing to use sky attack) I wouldn’t recommend this set.

Good Teammates

  • Specially Defensive mons like Goodra & Florges can come in and take a hit for it when switching.
  • Sticky Web users like Galvantula can help it outspeed other pokemon. Because this thing has bad speed.
  • D. Bisharp can switch in on intimidate users so Delta Crustle Cake can Shell Smash easily.
  • Excadrill can switch in safely from most of the types D. Bisharp is weak to.

Checks & Counters

  • Faster Special attackers that can deal super effective damage like Espeon & Choice Scarf Delta Gardevoir can OHKO this thing and not give a f**k.
  • Mega Aggron eats HJK for breakfast and can OHKO in return. 0 Atk Mega Aggron Avalanche vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Delta Bisharp: 230-272 (84.8 - 100.3%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
  • Raticate…lets not speak of this. EVER AGAIN. 252 Atk Guts Raticate Facade (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Delta Bisharp: 297-349 (91.9 - 108%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • Mega Altaria does not care about Technician boosts and OHKO’s easily. 252+ Atk Pixilate Mega Altaria Return vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Delta Bisharp: 402-474 (124.4 - 146.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • Mega Mawile OHKO’s with STAB Iron Head. IRON HEAD! 252+ Atk Huge Power Mega Mawile Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Delta Bisharp: 372-438 (115.1 - 135.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Okay so…

Not bad! I didn’t though about Dual Chop honestly. It’s a way to pass Garchomp, I guess. Even though

About Mega Mawile, it’s not a problem. It’s Uber while D.Bisharp is OU.

Other options includes Defog. D.Bisharp fit incredibly well in Hyper Offense because it can absorb Defog and then become a Sweeper in its own. Swords Dance set also works. On non-mega set, Adamant is preferred as it’s speed is too low. I suggest Mach Punch on most sets. U-Turn is also very viable.

ngl I was SHOOK when I learned Raticate could OHKO. Any other tips for the other sections?

It’s nice, but Achilles Heel could be abused with technician.

Drain punch or Mach punch

Even tho raticate may ohko, it’s still a nu Mon. Meaning, it is on practically no ou team, other than troll. And, it gets ohko’ed by pretty much any of d.bisharp’s fighting moves. One set i’d like to suggest is a bulky wind force one. I’m not smart enough to make a set,let someone else do that. The idea is wind force absorbs all flying moves, including defog, so a ghost partner like say jellicent could work quite well to take in rapid spin

Oh wait Peter already mentioned that nvm

That wouldn’t work. Wind Force only takes attack moves.

i saw a post somewhere saying it takes in defog but i dunno havent tested or smth

Not really the best move for it, especially when other pokemon can do it better.

Wanna test it on sim?

the sim is outdated
sad

well its better than dual chop sine more power and 100 accuracy, unless you rly want to beat dragons

Well, people underestimate the power of a Gut Facade STAB.

Yeah, it boosts it’s speed. Motor Drive for Flying moves.

But I don’t think it works for status moves, does it?

No, any flying move that targets the opponent. So no TIlwind, but yes defog cuz evasion drop.

Umm or sub break. Imagine this thing with Dual Wingbeat.
