Decoding Delta Ambipom

“Shadows settled on the place, that you left, Our minds are troubled by the emptiness”

No intro, lets do it.

Typing, Stats, Ability & Movepool

Ghost/Normal
Abilities: Cursed Body, Infiltrator & Technician
Stats:
HP: 75
Atk: 100
Def: 66
SpA: 60
SpD: 66
Spe: 115

Good speed and usable attack. Other stats are horrible. No bulk. Despite having a wide movepool. So I only could think of 2 viable sets for you guys.

Oh, did I mention that this type combo is unresisted? By ANY POKEMON? Yeah, this boi is a real :gem:.

Set Suggestions

Destiny Locked

Delta Ambipom @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Jolly Nature

  • Destiny Bond
  • Fake Out
  • Shadow Punch
  • Achilles Heel/Power-Up Punch/U-Turn

This is the most Dambipom has to offer. Fake Out is for flinch with 90 base power. Then it can go for Destiny Bond for insurance. Shadow Punch is there for a strong Technician STAB that also skips accuracy checks. Then you have a choice: Wicked Strong STAB, Dark Coverage, or Pivot.

Your Choice of Choice

Delta Ambipom @ Choice Band/Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Jolly Nature (If Band) Adamant Nature (If Scarf)

  • U-Turn
  • Achilles Heel
  • Shadow Punch
  • Power-Up Punch

Similar reasoning for the last one. Strong STAB’s, Pivot if you switch into a Dark-type, and a way to drive that attack stat up.

Other Options

I mean, what other options does it really have? No seriously, someone help. @ezlaturbo, @PeterHolmes74 help.

Good Teammates

  • Good dark-type counters like Sylveon and Volcarona aid Dambipom in countering its only weakness.
  • Defog users can help aid Dambipom into safe entry.
    – On the same note, Rapid Spinners like Starmie & Blastoise can do the job as well.

Checks & Counters

  • Knock Off users like Mega Crawdaunt end this pokemon’s career.
  • Mega Lopunny does not give a f**k about immunties, wins in the Fake Out war, and will KO before setting up a Destiny Bond.
  • Strong steel-types like Mega Metagross & Aegislash shut the Choice set down easily.
  • Bulky and Strong pokemon take this thing out in Choice Set. They DEMOLISH it.

Any other attacker will prob go down to Destiny Bond (unless running the Choice Set), so be careful of that.

Final Verdict: UU, or RU. I cannot see this thing any lower, because it has a good thing going for it actually. A 100% totally unresisted type combo is not something people with gawk at.

But what do you think? Comment down below.

Bisharp and Tyranitar resist its typing combo. Whithout factoring Achile Heel of course.

That’s why the Fighting moves are there.

So not unresisted, fighting ghost is closer to being unresisted only resisted by dambi.

It is still unresisted.

rock dark or steel dark resists normal ghost.

Also, normal/ghost is resists, and id actually immune to… Normal/Ghost ᕦ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕤᕦ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕤᕦ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕤ,. Kek

What did you think of the analysis?

It’s good. I’m not shure about Power Up Punch on a Choice set, but it’s manageable. Also, Aegislash too is Uber.
