Whoops! Space mew!

Hiya. I assume this would be the right place and way to mention this. Apologies if I’m outta line; I don’t really do forums, usually. Anyways…

The way you’re supposed to get space Mew, as I understand, is by the whole wonder trading thing, right? I ain’t interested in that, but, bizarre of bizarrities, I seem to have gotten it to happen for myself regardless.

Here’s how it happened:

  • Mew in first slot in party, knows transform.
  • Dexnav. Battle Rich Boy Aaron.
  • Beat his first two Pokemon.
  • His third Pokemon is a mega-evolving Pinsir.
  • Transformed into it on the same turn it mega-evolved.
  • Thus, Mew transforms into the mega-evolved Pinsir.
  • Pinsir wrecks Mew. Sorry, little buddy.
  • Win the battle with the rest of my team.
  • Heal my party at one of the Nurse Joys in my Secret Base.
  • And surprise! Mew’s now space-Mew-lookin’.

I couldn’t find any mention of this happening to anyone else - nor there being any other way to get space Mew other than, uh, the usual. So, question is, what the hell? Would this be some secret other way of getting it, or just a bug, or what? If it’s a bug, would it be the mega evolution transform shenanigans that caused it? Can anyone else replicate this? I might experiment a bit and see if I can figure out exactly why it happened, I guess.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is a bug in the code.
Basically forms are handled by a set of values.
Mega Pokemon are part of these values.
So mew has forms for every mega form. So the game made mew to mega evolve, but then when it revertes back to normal mew it seems the form is defined wrong and then becomes space mew. Very wierd bug the same bug happens to poken forms (don’t worry if u don’t know what they are u get dem in the end of the game).
