I have just starded playing pokemon fangames, and a few days back, I tried some new games, but I feel that Insurgence is the best out of them in story and graphics. What are your experiences with other pokmon fangames? P.S I tried pokemon Xenus and pokemon Archaic legacy. P.P.S I only TRIED these pokemon games for a short time.
My personal favourites are Zeta/Omicron (which was also made by Suze), Reborn and Super Pokemon Eevee Edition. There are a lot of good ones out there though.

Try Reborn and Rejuvenation. They do not have all the modes like insurgence, but they make up for it in their deep story, huge maps, variety of puzzles, refreshing difficulty and they make you use pokemon you would never expect to use. It brings out the best of your battling skills with 18 gyms(not in current updates, that number is just the number that will be in the full game when they finish development) and the elite 8. Rejuvenation also has shadow pokemon. These games can easily take up over 100 hours in their current demo alone without even exploring everything. There is a ridiculous number of things you can find by exploring and kept me playing for weeks after every update.

Here’s my personal team that i used up until the end of beta/6th gym.
Zane the Flearoe, Hawaii the Kahula, Crystal the Cryodro, Ennui the Countula, #JustChill the Elecleaf, and Lillian the Pixililly.
Up to the final game, i LOVED the game. It was really fun, had great designs and i would recommend it to other people who play insurgence! 
I personally focus on fakemon games. Let’s see…
Uranium: The sprites (trainers and mons alike) and mon designs are meh, but the region is pretty well designed, decent level curve except before 7th Gym where the ice mountain is a somewhat drastic level spike, and the most finished RPGMaker fakemon game so far. Also, where is my Fly TM :U
Solar Light/Lunar Dark: I have a hand in the game so I might be slightly biased here : P Great spritework, decent designs, the plot is pretty simple and the level curve is good. The next update will be a complete overhaul of the game, for that matter.
Ethereal Gates: Pretty new, but the sprites are amazing and the difficulty is just right. It’s a bit resource-intensive though, so one might get some lagging when a lot of animated sprites are onscreen.
Sage: The only thing bad about this is that it’s only up to 1st Gym. Starts in an ice area which is kind of innovative, sorta, and the music is nice too. Don’t expect an update any time soon, though ;-;
The ones below are Touhoumon games in case you want something a bit different:
Touhou Puppet Play 1.8 Enhanced: The best Touhoumon romhack I’ve played so far, this one have a well-balanced list of mons (or puppets as refered to in all Touhoumon games), good level curve, plus new and amazing music.
Touhoumon Faith & Prayer Version: A new RPGMaker Touhoumon game, it contains both Touhoumons and regular Pokemons which is pretty fun. The current version is already done with Kanto and stops at Johto so far, too.
Touhou Puppet Dance Performance: A standalone Touhoumon game by the creator of the original Touhoumon romhacks. It’s… an entirely different game, to be honest. But let’s just say that it’s challenging compared to Pokemon without requiring grinding, and most of the contents are a lot more accessible than regular Pokemon games.

It’s an amazing series that you WILL enjoy.
I don’t really like fakemons, but I kinda consider insurgence to be a special case because delta pokemon are technically variations of other pokemon.
