The Trick Rock is currently useless. I gave it to my Trick Room Musharna but in the Battle Tower, it only lasted five turns.
I would try it in a normal battle. The grand majority of Battle Frontier stuff is broken and has a habit of breaking other game mechanics. You might find it works fine a normal battle.
