Speed Discussion

A different topic to passerbys: Speed.

I came up with this idea when I was researching a team to revolve around my charizard Y, and then I thought with charizards good (but not very good) speed I need something to increase it to give me an edge since dragon dance is more befitting of charizard X and can also benefit tough claws ability. I thought about tailwind to see if charizard can learn it (the answer is no he can’t learn it), then it hit me why is tauros more faster than charizard.

Now I understand it’s always been that way for years even starting with red and blue, but if you just took a picture of them side-by-side (charizard and tauros) and ask someone who doesn’t know pokemon which one of them is faster I guarantee you many people would choose charizard.

But that’s not all many pokedex entries are a bit confused about the Speed of a Pokemon an example of it is Doduo and Dodrio, Dodou in the entries states that it is more faster than Dodrio.

Dodou Crystal Enty: If it sees an enemy, it runs away at 60 mph. Dodrio Yellow Entry: It runs close to 40 MPH in prairies.

And the speed stats begs to differ. So what are you thoughts about this?

That’s not necessarily true. Charizard looks fairly dense, and since it is lizard-like its body size can’t be explained with feathers. This can be confirmed in the Pokedex, which states that Charizard is 1.7 meters tall and 90.5 kilograms. The Himalayan vulture is ~3/4 the length of Charizard but weighs 1/3 as much. In reality, Charizard might not even be able to fly (unless it has some alien biology, which invalidates the question anyways). Many Pokedex entries can be easily proven false (Spoink doesn’t die in Gravity, Tyranitar can be harmed by attacks, Metang passes out after Rattata uses Tackle enough times) so you can’t use them to argue that stats don’t make sense.

Edit:dejse → dense

Thanks you for that reply, but I guess I was just saying that there are so many inconsistencies in the pokemon games that I just noticed overtime, many questions that should never be applied to fictional creatures. Thank you again for your reply.
