I’m hunting a Shiny Axew in Rezzai Cavern. No Shiny Charm. I’m tradebanned or I’d be doing it in a Friend Safari. I’ve been using DexNav, which has a longer time per encounter, but a 1/256 Shiny Rate. I can encounter mons much faster without DexNav, but it only has a 1/4096 Shiny Rate. Which do you think is faster?
Find the ratio between how many encounters you can do without DexNav in the time it takes for a single DexNav encounter. Depending on what you find, I’m sure you could make a case for either. I’m also assuming you have a Synchronizer in front, otherwise I’d suggest throwing a Pokemon with Illuminate in front to boost the encounter rate further.

Yes, I have a Synchronizer, thank you, I was planning to do that, but haven’t had time.
The DexNav shiny rate without a shiny charm is 1/768.
