Shiny Hunt Legendsry

Hey guys, just wish to know if I am able to shiny hunt legendaries by soft resetting right in front of it? Or do I have to go through a room/ladder to refresh the map again?

E.g. soft resetting right Before I Interact with it to battle

Just to ensure I am not wasting my efforts for the hunt.

Save your game next to the legendary (right, left, back or front whichever you like)

Interact with it to battle the legend or any poke that is a static encounter, if it´s not shiny sofreset bi pressing F 12 and do it again until it shines.
