RMT: Mega Typhlosion Squad

Building a team that I want to carry through the end of the game. Insurgence brings many aspects. A big aspect being the inclusion of new megas and new items such as pokemon armors. This is what I have created so far revolving around mega Typhlosion.

Open to comments on the team, remember this build is built around Mega Typhlosion so I will not be removing him. I am considering changing Sand Stream out for an unnerve Tyranitar but with Scizor and Swampert its an effy idea for now.

There are some problems with your EVs. Any EV greater than the previous multiple of 4 has no effect. You should only go to 252 in EVs because after that they are useless. For example, your Rotom has 255 HP EVs. If you instead had 252-254, you would be able to put 1 more EV in Defense. Granted, it usually doesn’t matter but if you’re going to be competitive those tiny differences can matter.

Quick Claw isn’t the best item, because it is extremely unreliable and it can fail you when you need it most. Leftovers is usually a better option.

While Roost adds some form of recovery, it gives the opponent free setup turns while you either switch out or stay in. If you’re going to run Roost, use Leftovers, Life Orb, or another item which doesn’t restrict your moves.

all valid points I have reset the EV’s and slowly working on redoing them, I also added life orb to Scizor, as for the quick claw i just needed a speed boost for swampert’s terrible speed. Do you recommend anything else?

You realize that you can simply lower an EV by giving the Pokemon a certain berry, right?

The only way Swampert can be speedy is with a rain team + Mega Stone. It’s not a fast sweeper. It’s more of a bulky Pokémon. I think you should remove your Attack EVs and instead give it a tanky set with Leftovers. Scizor and Trevenant can take Grass moves for Swampert and Swampert can take Fire moves for them. Replace Hammer Arm with Scald or Protect. Scald spreads status while Protect lets you stall for Leftovers recovery/Toxic damage.

Also, Typhlosion shouldn’t have Special Defense EVs. While its increased Special Defense stat makes it look tempting, it still has bad defensive typing and takes the same amount of hits to KO from most opponents. Meanwhile, you’ll get outsped by other sweepers like Alakazam and Hawlucha and left KO’d or susceptible to a revenge kill.
