If you haven’t played Zeta/Omicron yet, go for it. If you have, play Pokémon Glazed, that game is outstanding. Light Platinum is also very good.
Edit: You should also consider that Zeta/Omicron is is very, very long. There are two stories where you get your whole team to level 120 (almost).
Well Z/O is Zeta/Omicron. I already completed it. I mentioned Glazed and Light Platinum above that I already played it.
Oh I’m sorry. I misunderstood your post and thought that were the games you were looking forward to play. I’ve heard that Pokémon Uranium is good (too much Fakemons though).

Since I haven’t been playing too much lately, I don’t remember too much websites with good content. My favorite website about rom-hacking is Wah Hack Pokémon but it is in Spanish so you might have some problems if you don’t know the language.
Why not play the same games but as challenge runs?
