New player has questions

Hi! I’m Olive. I recently watched TyranitarTube’s playthrough of the game, and wanted to try it out for myself. Before I did, I wanted to hear about some good mons, as well as which starter was the most viable. I’m kind of competitive about Pokemon, and catch them if I like them an they’re viable. Thanks in advance!

Ok D.squirtle is not a good pokemon to start. Most people pick Delta charmander but D. Bulbasaur is ok too.

Are there specific mons you want to learn about @Olive ? Do you want to learn more about deltas in general?

I’d like to learn about deltas, and maybe a few you use.

Ok, although i’m not the best you should be asking i’ll list the best that helped me during my playthrough

My most helpful delta. It’s going to be Delta Dragonite. It’s a physical pokemon so Max out it’s attack EVs. It’s a water-electric pokemon. A build on MY dragonite would be Rain dance, Aqua tail, wild charge and thunder. I eventually tweaked it to include Power-up punch, rain dance, Wild charge and aqua tail. But of course there are better Water physical attacks like waterfall.

Also a build for D.dragonite that a friend gave me:
Dragonite-Delta @ Air Balloon / Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Waterfall
-Wild Charge
-Earthquake
-U-turn

Any specific delta you want to know more about?

I guess Delta Venusaur

Ok i got you. We do have 2 simulators where you can build pokemon movesets and teams (yes this includes deltas and mechanics from insurgence). Also I’m working on my own version of an insurgence simulator so that you can practice against trainer NPCS. Because for the insurgence simulator barely anyone is online so you can test them

Actually, D. Dragonite can run a mean special or mixed set, depending on the Nature. Delta Venusaur is a decent setup sweeper/stall mon, with Leech Seed, Moonlight, Calm Mind, and Stored Power or Draining Kiss. However, where it shines is the mega. With a Timid Nature, and Calm Mind, Moonblast, Psychic/Psyshock, and Shadow Ball, it can sweep the entire game, making it a good choice for solo runs.

Alright! Thanks for the help!

From my standpoint it makes no sense for someone to get things like mean look or other Moves like that other than Status boosting moves for Insurgence because the online battling mode is going to be deleted + Nobody barely used it. Do correct me if I’m wrong.

Hubris mons are dangerous in general. Most of the deltas you cannot get till postgame, but some notable ones are Delta Gardevoir, a great Choice Scarf mon for most of the game, Delta Scyther(better than D. Scizor) with Hustle, an Eviolite, and Hone Claws(sweeps most of E4), Delta Snorlax (a general bulky tank, the Bulk Up set is the most consistent set), Mega Delta Sunflora(Great revenge killer, bring in after a KO to get free kills), Mega Delta Froslass(Magic Guard Eruption), Delta Roserade(New Moon sweeper with Shadow Dance), Mega Delta Typhlosion(Rain/Moon breaker), Delta Metagross Spider(Hazards, and Mega is good vs E4). Those are all the good non postgame ones iirc.

Delta Emolga and Delta Chandelure are good mons, that are crazy strong once you get the Hidden Abilities in the postgame. Delta Hydreigon and Delta Haxorus are strong breakers I forgot to mention. Make sure to get Intoxicate on D. Hydrei, and Aqua Jet before you evolve D. Haxorus.

Boosting Moves and Status inflicting are useful, granted, but other non-damaging moves can be useful, like Taunt or Haze in the Elite 4, as well as healing moves such as Synthesis, or speed control moves or weathers, such as Trick Room, though weather is better set by ability. Yes, the ingame battle mode is being deleted, but these moves are still useful. Especially in harder modes.

And of course, You got to be actually realistic. It’s realistic to make move sets based on a Pokémon’s learn set because you never know if they have that TM or Item.

The items I listed you will get before postgame, and the TMs or Tutors are all available before postgame. I make sure of that.

ok…

It’s not that hard to use the Taxi to backtrack and get a Tutor move or anything. Level up learnset is actually less consistent, because it’s much harder to get Heart Scales than fly to the tutor.

Yea but rock smashing the rocks in koril town then entering and leaving the pokecenter near it can fix the problem & increase item gain.
