Further info:I dont have much, but I would really like it if someone sent maybe a failed cyndaquil to me so i can breed it into my own? he was my first starter in my first pokemon game and i would really like to raise one from a low level (with good IVs) servers are down right now for trading but would like this to be preplanned.
You can get your own ingame. Two methods:
You can find wild ones in Route 4
Get a druddigon in the cave of steam, then trade it for a cyndaquil in sonata city. This cyndaquil will be holding a very special item, considering your first starter was cyndaquil you will be very excited to see this particular item
cmon spoilers! But yea these are very common early on in the game (2nd gym?..) Route 4 just outside the 3rd town(i think), you can catch these to your hearts content and find the typing you want.
