I just beat Anastasia’s gym (electric) on hard mode and the level cap was working until then, at level 59. The next major battle is supposed to be vs Taen, where his ace is also level 59. This should mean that the level cap should not have changed. However, I realised that I could level my pokemon to level 62.
It’s not the biggest glitch ever, but it seems like an easy fix so I thought I’d just share it
It’s hard to say if this is a bug or if suze intentionally didn’t set a level cap to Taen because the battle takes place literally right after the player fights Anastasia, though he appears to have done the exact opposite with East/Jaern. I’d say that you’re free to go ahead and report it if it hasn’t already been reported in the bugtracker link above but it may not end up getting addressed in 1.2.
I checked the wiki. The level cap is stated to be level 59
