With the IV stones in Insurgance, I’m wondering how IVs will act when suddenly changed.
Are IVs calculated as a pokemon levels, or all at once?
For example; If a pokemon has an IV at 0 at level 50 and then suddenly it changes to 31 would that pokemon get the same benefit as if it had that 31 IV from level 1?
In Z/O the stats would change after a Pokemon entered battle. I’m not entirely sure if that was changed in Insurgence but it’s such a small change that I really don’t see why it would.
So, if you use an IV stone at level 100 and then enter a battle, that stat would then increase by 31 points?
I just want to get an understanding of how it works before I try to buckle down into breeding madness or IV stone farming monotony.
If we’re assuming that the IV was previously 0, the stat effected was HP, or you had a neutral nature, then yes. Otherwise you’d need to take the difference between the two IV values into account as well as apply the Pokémon’s nature multiplier.
So, if I understand this right, if a level 100 pokemon had a defense IV of 0 and no nature affecting it, and then used the IV stone to make it 31, it would then be boosted by the 31 pts that are typical to that?
Thank you very much for helping me to understand this, you have made a fantastic game that myself and all my friends really love, and it’s very nice to see developing staff be so helpful with (stupid) questions!
