Issues Connecting Online

So in relation to going online, I get this message, and when trying to do the Mystery Gift (for spooky wooper pumpkin) I get this even though I haven’t received it yet. I know I have because I redownloaded it yesterday, and my Firewall is off, so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Did you check the pokemon center for the delivery man?

There isn’t a delivery man there.

I have this problem too, it takes to long so the game shuts down…

Try creating a new save file, and check the MG availability, if the problem remain the same then either your game is not on the latest patch still or there is an issue with your internet connection.

Well, I tried but I still got the same issue. I don’t really know what to do about it now, so I’m going to go out on a limb and say that maybe there’s a firewall on my university’s internet preventing any connection or something.
