Insurgence on a Retroid Pocket 2

So I recently bought a Retroid Pocket 2, which is a handheld console based off of Android 6.1 (soon to be Android 8) and was wondering if it would be possible to run Pokemon Insurgence on it? I’d need to transfer the files to the console, but the console has capabilities to run consoles including NDS, so I know it won’t have a issue running insurgence. It also has limited PC capabilities.

Has anyone tried anything similar before? I know Insurgence isn’t run off a emulator, hence why I’m wondering if someone’s ever tried to port it to a handheld console such as the Retroid.

@owch666 i think you should ask a dev…

I mean, it might be possible. The game is meant for pc so if you run it on mobile it’ll have a horrible time trying to run it properly. Haven’t heard of anyone using any consoles on it yet. Probably because it’s impossible to look things up online. You can test it, though I think it would fail or at least have a pretty hard time running it.

Also welcome to the community.

It could work if you had an emulator that runs rpgmakerXP games.

Problem is the game works using .exe files, whitch only works on Windows Operating System. It is because the way the OS speaks to the kernel is different from each OS. Using a .exe file on a Mac is like speaking German to a Japanese. The opposite is also true, Windows cannot read .dmg files like Mac does for the same reason. That’s why most game aren’t avaliable on Linux, Mac OS and Chrome OS. Although the lack of games on Mac compared to Windows is mostly because Apple verify and « quality checks » every application to allow them or not, it represents a smaller part of the market and the new way the game must speak to the computer.

If your console can use .exe files, it should be fine. Considering your console is based on Android, a Google operating system, I seriously doubt this would works.

Well, like on mobile it could work, but it wouldn’t work well AT ALL. I’ve seen screenshots of people running insurgence in mobile and it looks horrible. I doubt this would work well.

So my advice @owch666, don’t try using it.

This is seriously helpful, thank you so much! Really appreciate it. I lowkey forgot Android was a Google System and not associated w windows since I can sync it with my windows devices.

I probably won’t test it since the console is a bit expensive and I’m being told that it’s going to be buggy. Don’t wanna mess anything up software wise. Also appreciate the welcome

Alright.

I bought the retroid poket 2 too. My aim for buying it was to testing and playing insurgence on this device. So I tried it and have bad news.

First starting the game takes quite long but after waiting one minute it “runs”.
After starting the start sequence were the blond guy is talking to the publican the game runs very slow. But when you begin to play its ok it’s “playable”.
Now all is good I thought but there are two big problems.

First problem is that the controller of the retroid doesn’t work whit joi play or mby I don’t find the solution.
Second and the way bigger problem is that after saving and closing the game, the game doesn’t load if u want to start the game again.

Also if you start insurgence for the first time, the game opens an tells u if u willing to do changes on the settings, if u press yes the game shut down. After opening again the error massage "script ‘SpriteWindow’ line 1354 … " appears after pressing start or any button on the starting screen where the picture of the legendary pokemon is.

So to sum up it would be so nice to play the game on my retroid but it doesn’t work for me. Maybe there is a solution, I thought of a light version of the game (maybe someone done something like this) where there less special effects or something like that .

Pokemon insurgence works on my smartphone perfectly, so i think this problem has to do whit only the power of this device.

By the wau, I’m Austrian and my English isn’t the best so sorry for that
