You have to create a new account within the base. Go in your friend safari area and enter the cave mouth for online options.

Strange. Are you using the latest version? I may be wrong about the second account. I recall having to create a second one for some reason. However, my trading/battling account works for my friend safari. Try uploading your base if you can connect.
By the way, if you chose the mini evil base, you can’t upload it. That’s why I haven’t uploaded mine yet. It’s the coolest one in my opinion.
