Help for in game rain team please

Hi, I’m quite near Metchi City and I need help building my rain team to complete the story ( not for competitve ) .I’m wondering if having three water types on my team is a bit too much . I was thinking my team could consist of the following:

Politoed / Ludicolo

Seismitoad I’m thinking of adding a seismitoad because my team seems to need a ground type for type coverage and Seismitoad has swift swim .

Kabutops/poliwrath I guess that I need at least one physical attacker and it fits the bill . However given that Kabuto only evolves at level 40 and that Poliwrath is also a fighting type , I was thinking that maybe it would be better to use a swift swim Poliwrath . Using a Poliwrath is pretty unorthodox and may be a terrible idea so I want to know what you guys think .

Magnezone I added it mainly for type coverage and because it is quite strong in the main games but given that it can only evolve at Whirl Islands, I’m not too sure if it is any good . I’m considering switching it out for delta gallade and filling my last slot with another steel type pokemon if that is the case.

Honchcrow I added it because it has type coverage and looks cool.

For the last slot I’m not too sure what to add . I guess I could leave it empty so that my other pokemon will get more experience . Most of my pokemon will come from the friend safari . Thank you for taking the time to read this and please let me know of any suggestions that you have

Edit: I just realized that Delta Scizor fits my team type wise quite well so I’m probably going to add it into the last slot of my team . Sorry for not mentioning this earlier.

Edit 2: Thanks everyone for your suggestions ! Based on these suggestions I’ve revised my team to the following:

Politoed Seismitoad Kingdra Ferrothorn Honchcrow Delta Sizor

Maybe the starter that you piked in the start of the game? Or Empoleon?

Thank you for the reply . No offense but my starter was delta Charmander so I’m not too sure if it will synergize well with my team . Also, no offense again but while Empoleon would definitely look pretty cool , it wouldn’t really add anything to the team . Actually , I found out about delta scizor and type wise it fits my team perfectly so I’m considering to use it in my team

How about Gyarados? It’s a strong water type that would enjoy the benefits of Rain, though it’s 4x weakness to electricity may be a liability with rain up. My shiny Gyarados absolutely wrecks stuff with aqua tail, and it gets some coverage moves against dragons which might otherwise give your water types some issues. Plus it’s an intimidate / moxie user.

Alternatively, ferrothorn might be viable. Ferrothorn hates fire, but might be able to survive it in the rain. It’s a defensive grass / steel type that can use leech seed (egg move), ingrain, and leftovers to keep it healthy, curse to lower it’s speed and raise its defense, and gyro ball to hit anything faster than it super hard. Plus, in regular game it might be more viable than in competition. Plus it hurts anything that attacks it physically. A nasty surprise when used as a switch in against a physical attacker.

Maybe a Swift Swim Kingdra instead of Poliwrath, it has very few weakness due to its types, and can go with a mix setup; and Politoed with Drizzle is a must go n any rain team, and finally any sap sipper could be nice against grass types.

You actually should probably use Delta Scizor as it also does have a mega evolution.

Great idea about using ferrothorn . I’ll replace magnezone with it .

Thanks for letting me know about how Politoed is a must, I’ll definitely use it instead of Ludicolo. I agree with you that Kingdra would be better than Poliwrath.

Thanks. Glad you like it.
