Game startup not working

When I try to load up Insurgence I get this message:

I have no clue what it means and after I press ok the launcher comes up, but nothing loads no matter how long you sit and wait. The button just says waiting. Anybody know what this means or how to fix it?

don’t use the launcher, run the game directly after extracting using the game.exe
