Frontier Brain Asanre

Character Name: Asanre

Character Description: Asanre grew up an orphan in Kalos, working within Terminus Cave for whatever money he could get. When the coal mines there closed, and he was left with no way of feeding himself, he desperately turned to searching for treasure in the rocks that frequented the cave. Everything changed for him, however, when within one of the rocks he found a Jaw Fossil. After that, he sold everything else he owned and had found in the cave for the money to buy a ticket to Ambrette Town. There, the experts revived it into his very own Pokémon, a Tyrunt. To his surprise, when he sent it out for his first battle, it was blue! He didn’t understand why at the time, but it really didn’t matter to him. From there, he became a battler for the entertainment of others, wanting to make people who were as miserable as he had been smile.

One of his trips to Sinnoh was especially eventful. The day before his matches in Canalave City were to take place, he received a letter from a family there. Their child, a huge fan of his, had fallen into a restless sleep that had been uninterrupted for two weeks. As he visited, he heard the whispers and rumors on the streets. He was used to hearing them, and knew they often had grains of truth to them. After visiting and giving condolences to the family, he talked with the sailor near their house, and sailed north. No one knows what occurred where he went that day, but a few things are known: the child woke up just a few hours later to an autograph, Asanre’s scheduled battles that day were swift and one-sided, giving him the reputation of being a nightmare to face, and Asanre introduced himself saying: “Not to worry, I’ll keep the nightmares of life away!”

Asanre is a tall man in his early thirties, with slicked back, medium length red hair. He wears a suit with coattails and gold buttons. He always has a genuine smile on his face, and likes nothing more than entertaining people with tough battles. He respects people who have protected those who can’t protect themselves, and have tried to make the world a better place, thus, he idolizes Adam and has tremendous respect for you, the player. To make things more dramatic, Asanre speaks very formally, but because he was poor and never received a real education, he occasionally slips up and makes grammatical errors. He does this more when he gets very excited (say, if he were to learn you were the son/daughter of the first Augur ;)) and will go back to speaking simply if he makes too many mistakes.
