Features from Zeta/Omnicron

Insurgence/Zeta/Omnicron are all fantastic games, and I think that Z/O had some nice features that I wish were kept in Insurgence.

- Rocket Boots: I think this used to be in Insurgence, but was taken out. I thought that removing the need for HM slaves by introducing HM items was brilliant, but because of the Pikataxi’s limited locations, I still feel like I needed to carry around a Fly slave all the time (I’d very often want to fly somewhere while in the middle of a route). I really missed having the Rocket Boots.

- The Jukebox: It seems that this used to be in the Pokegear, but the Pokegear, and thus this, was taken out? The Jukebox was a really nice feature - makes the experience more enjoyable.

- The Mining Game: Pokepon is cool, but sometimes the complete lack of control leaves something to be desired. Although having an infinite source of free money, essentially, might be controversial, I thought the mining minigame was a nice feature.

- More accessible Nature changers (and to a lesser extent, IV Stones and Heart Scales: I know this is a controversial suggestion, because in one sense it makes building an optimized team easy and nearly invalidates the Day-Care Center, but I think a lot of people would like the ability to have control over these features (as opposed to praying with Pokepon). I understand that those who put in the time and effort should be rewarded, but I think having more accessible Nature changing opportunities is worth considering (especially for unbreedable Pokemon, such as Legendaries).

One idea I’ve had for this is to have Nature-changing NPCs scattered throughout the region, and they’d charge money per Nature change. The Nature changers who offer the “worse” Natures (Docile, Lax, etc.) would maybe only charge a few thousand dollars, and the “best” Nature changers (Jolly, Timid, Adamant, Modest) charging a ton of money (like 100K maybe) per Nature change.

And as I mentioned, to a lesser extent, my suggestion is to make sure that obtaining Heart Scales and IV Stones isn’t a cakewalk, but not a grueling task either.

I mean, the PikaPad exists, which acts like the rocket boots.

Well, you could use a Synchronizer for legendaries.

You can battle Gentleman Dun using the dexnav. He only has a level 50 Dunsparce and gives you 7200 per battle if you have amulet coin. It’s the quickest way to earn money if I’m not wrong, provided you have a strong enough pokemon.

Sonata Races are even faster. With the max sponsor, it gives over 10k per battle and random Pokeballs. Racing on Ice Path makes it nearly impossible to lose.

Like I mentioned in the original post, I acknowledge the existence of the Pikapad, but you don’t get it until very late in the game. I felt that until you get the Pikapad, the PikaTaxi is slightly insufficient.

Also, I think I was misunderstood. I wasn’t asking how to get infinite free money. The reason I mentioned that is because that might’ve been the reason that the mining game didn’t reappear in Insurgence (because the devs might not have wanted to include a feature that spits out free items like that). It was just an offhanded comment, nothing more.

And I realize that Synchronizers can be used on unbreedable Pokemon but I still think it would be nice to not have the only Nature-changing opportunity be random.

A nature changer would be helpful, because I’ve captured a lot of the legendary pokemon without paying attention to their nature. And I don’t want to restart my entire game, just to be able to capture the legendaries again.

I remember the Nature Changer idea not being too popular back in Z/O’s day because people thought it was too “Babying” or something along those lines. If something like that is added to the game, it shouldn’t be super easy because the only way its getting added is if we have to work for it. I’d say make it a prize you can win from the Battle Frontier, maybe? I at least got lucky with Pokepon, but I know just how bad it feels when the RNG decides that he suddenly hates you.

Another mining game would be sweet. It’s a lot more immersive than going through Midna Mines hoping you get something from smashing rocks, at least. It’d solve the problem of Heart Scales and IV stones, at least.

Now, I know where you’re coming from with the Rocket Boots, but I sadly disagree (at least, in the idea that you get the item earlier). Oddly enough, as time went on, I felt the lack of easily accessible fly less and less as the game went on. That’s just me, though.

No, the quickest way to get money is train for like an hour at the Sonata Races and always choose Ice Path. It is the easiest and if you end up getting Devon Corp as your sponsor you get like $10,000+ per race and a bunch of Pokeballs. There is also the chance of getting a Delta Ball. I have 2 so far.
