Does day/night spawn different pokemon/ Encounter?

In my intro area playthrough, changing the computer time did change the day/night Lighting in game, but no change to random encounters . What do other gamers think? OR currently, will encounter regions be changed only if you play randomized challenge? Thanks

There are no areas which contain separate day/night encounters.
