Does the Darkness weather give priority to Dark-type moves or something? It was the first turn of the battle, and I sent out Delta Scyther vs a Spiritomb. Both are the same level. The Spiritomb’s Noctem summoned Darkness, and then on the first turn, it used Taunt before I could attack. It wasn’t holding a Choice Scarf because it used another move right after (and even if it were, Delta Scyther would be faster anyway). I went for a regular move (I didn’t select a negative-priority move).
I also noticed something similar with faint attack. I thought one of the devs might have believed it to be feint and adjusted the priority.
I guess I’ll have to test this further but if it gives priority to all Dark moves and gives them a 35% boost then Darkness is by far the best weather and is borderline broken tbh
Looking on the wiki, it doesn’t say anything about that. It’s also been updated for 1.2 as well.
um yes you are correct but it also makes it so moves that take usually two turns now take one and ghost types also get pryority
hm then how come my mega delta charizard level90 can out run rayquaza level110
and you sed 1.2 I’m in 1.2.3 so it must of ben added that or I just have a supper fast delta charizard but then again I have been wrong before so I shouldn’t argue
I haven’t been able to replicate it either. Where was it that that happened? Was it the battle frontier?
no I went and tried to capture raquaza except I didn’t realize I would move first and one shot it with mega delta charizard and his ability
Normal Rayquaza isn’t even that fast you might have out sped it with higher IVs and EVs because rayquaza’s base speed is only 95 and Charizard has a base speed of 100
oh I didn’t know that usually rayquaza is actually pretty fast
I’m aware of the wiki page, but the wiki isn’t always necessarily correct.
And yes, this happened in the Battle Frontier.
No, I know how this game works lol. I used Hone Claws. I mentioned in the OP that I didn’t use a negative priority attack.
I just tested it, and it was a bug in the Battle Frontier. Ghost and Dark moves aren’t given priority under regular circumstances - that was just a situation in which the game glitched.
You didn’t say the move you used and that is always something that should be stated with what the opponent used in order to make the situation clear instead of the “I didn’t use a negative priority attack” because that is kind of a hazy bug description because it could be limited to one move.
If you could also please report this @ https://bitbucket.org/PInsurgence/insurgence/issues/new if it hasn’t already been reported.
I just checked. The Spiritomb that fits your description is holding a Quick Claw.
Ohhh. And quick claws don’t say anything in Insurgence. You solved a mystery for me.
