Am I doing something wrong with Breeding?

So some background, Im trying to get some good IV pokemon, I put a 6IV Delta Ditto with Destiny Knot into the daycare and am getting subpar 0-3 Perfect IV pokemon each time. So what I’m wondering is am I doing something wrong, is it luck, or is something wrong with the game?

I try to get a pokemon with at least 3 perfect IV for my first egg, then swap the parent for that pokemon so the probability for the next batch of eggs to have perfect iv in many stats gets higher.

I think I realized my mistake, Destiny knot takes IVs from both parents right? even if it’s not holding the knot.
