Amoongus kills it with Giga Drain as I wonder: Was it a Poliwhirl? It resisted water, had fighting type moves and died to Giga Drain so I can only imagine the Pokémon being Poliwhirl.

Not knowing its moveset, I decide to switch into Kricketune after I see that it wasn’t weak to grass. Then one word was focused here: Flamethrower

I notice that it also has Earthquake, but lucky me, my Emboar survives the hit while I revive my Palkia

As I stupidly increase the HP of my Emboar, East sends out what I can only imagine as a Ghost type, a Psychic type or a Dark type because it uses Shadow Ball. It KOs my Emboar while I increase Palkia’s HP

I KO this Pokémon and level up, getting the chance to learn Spacial Rend.

After a little bit of asking on Discord, I replace Scary Face with Spacial Rend. I also get a tip on the fact that I want to settle on either Special or Physical attacks, not both, so I will keep that in mind

Forget the “Time to dry it up” comment, it killed my Wailord, and Freeze Dry. despite being super effective, isn’t very powerful.

For some odd reason, I send out Amoongus, and it seems to have worked. Giga Drain was much better at taking it out than Freeze Dry, I’ll tell you that much

After healing in the Pokémon center. I get a small cutscene of that hiker that was “saved” by the Augur.
I’ll save here and hopefully continue tomorrow. Don’t count on it though, but I will try to keep hopes up

what actually happens tho, cuz we clearly see the hiker go boom but then he’s saved? how, was he resurrected by the fossil maniac or smth?

I have a theory. Since there is a very low chance that the hiker actually survived, and he isn’t fossilized yet, the Augur probably has data on most of the Torren population, such with real life governments, he pulled a picture of the hiker (full body picture probably) and got a Ditto to transform into the hiker.
And no, we are not going to talk about the fact that a Ditto in the anime couldn’t transform into a Dratini by looking at it via book, because that is in the anime, which is non-canon. Plus, Ditto can’t just pull a moveset out of its non-existent butt and since humans aren’t Pokémon, they don’t have movesets.
The hiker went down the last before it exploded, trapping him inside but not killing him.
