Theory Ideas?

So I’m playing through Insurgence for my second time waiting for the new update, and I realised something- it is never explained why Persephone bothers to drain your memory right at the start if she’s just going to kill you anyway.

I know there is a theory that you are the First Auger, but that still doesn’t explain why she doesn’t just fire blast you into nothing right away if she was going to anyway.

I think this means that she meant for you to escape, and that it will tie into who sent Mew in the first place (that hasn’t been explained has it?).

Anyone have any good theory’s?

Speculation is pointless, but during the later story (of 1.1.7) i’m almost positive Persephone says something along the lines of she should have killed you when she had the chance. I’m sure there is a decently thought out reason why they took the story path they did.
