Shiny starter follower sprites

I have been shiny hunting for a shiny Squirtle for a while now and I don’t know if the follower sprite shows up shiny before the battle with Damian this might be a stupid question but im not 100% sure so any advice would help

The Shiny sprite will show up before the battle with Damian.
