I am trying to access the online version of the game so i login and it all goes good then all of a sudden it goes straight to a black screen. Are the servers down or is there a problem with my game?

The server is online, I was able to connect both to the trade and visit the friend safari just now. It might be a problem with your internet connection or your game(if it’s not 1.1.7, the latest version).
