I dont really get moves passing down

I want to breed a gligar with toxic and earthquake so i put vibrava with earthquake and scolipede with toxic to then breed the child with the feamele gligar with the hidden ability but the bred venipede had none of the moves i wanted D:

I’m not experienced with breeding, but from what I do know, neither of those are egg moves. There’s a page for Gligar on serebii that tells you what can be passed down!

You can use this chain:

  1. Male Trubbish (toxic) + Female Geodude -> Male Geodude (toxic)
  2. Male Geodude (toxic+earthquake) + Female Dwebble -> Male Dwebble (toxic+earthquake)
  3. Male Dwebble (toxic+earthquake) + Female Gligar -> Gligar (toxic+earthquake)

Well firstly, I’m assuming that Toxic wasn’t passed down to Venipede because Scolipede, the mother, cannot pass down TMs (only the father can). Secondly, Venipede does not learn Earthquake through TM, unlike Scolipede, and therefore cannot learn the move from breeding as it is also not an egg move.
