you can that before the third gym i think, in the black market theres an npc called a witch or something
There’s an NPC in the Black Market called Witchdoctor which would allow you to evolve pokemons that evolve by trade.
Update: I got to Helios city, and got my Haunter evolved. If you still need someone to trade with, though, I’ll be happy to help!
OP: I can help evolve, if you haven’t got to Helios city yet (like me) - I also need someone to help me evolve my Haunter
