I’ve been playing your game and I’ve been inspired to make my own pokemon game. But the thing is I want to include mega evolution, I just don’t want to use 3d sprites. I don’t have any sources to get the 2d megas from but you have files about it so I was wondering if you made the megas (again the canon ones), if you didn’t make them where did you get them. And if you did can I use them for my game (obviously giving the credit to you guys) please answer this thank you.
What do you mean by “canon” in this context? The ones made by the official company (Nitendo/Gamefreak) or the Delta Mega Evolution that are canon to Insurgence only?
If its the former then then it should be “ok” but DO keep in mind that everything Pokemon related is owned by Nitendo and they are notoriously protective of their merchandise. Most indie developers can make do without without ever seeing a “cease & desist” order while others aren’t so lucky. The more exposed/famous your game is, the higher the chances Nitendo will see it and possibly close it down for good.
If its the latter… well, most (if not all) of the Delta Pokemon that appear in Insurgence, plus their evolutions, are contributions from the community to the game. Considering Delta 'Mons are unique to Insurgence, I THINK the devs may not like the idea of other people using them in their own projects… but that’s just me. I know a similar question show up in Pokemon Uranium and the developer made it pretty clear they didn’t want other people using their work, and encouraged them to make their own instead.
i’m talking about the actual real pokemon megas like not the deltas and insurgence megas I mean the megas that gamefreak themselves created. Anyways thank you for the answer.
I believe they took the sprites from here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/xy-sprite-project-read-1st-post-release-v1-0-on-post-3243.3486712/
